In my blog this past May, I explored why companies without in-house IP counsel should undertake patent portfolio audits. But even for companies with strong internal IP teams, independent audits are just as valuable. Familiarity with existing portfolios can sometimes obscure overlooked risks or missed opportunities—and an objective outside review helps surface those blind spots.
